“'What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard...'” Genesis 21:17
Self-pity is a pitfall for anyone in a crisis. At first it feels like a cozy blanket,...
”The Lord said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee…so Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him.” Genesis 12:1, 4
God simply, yet clearly instructed Abram to leave all known security and follow Him. Without knowing details, Abram, the most prominent and successful man in the community, pulled up his tent, gathered his family and walked out of town. Abram made headline news.
Scripture doesn’t say he asked questions nor feared the towns people or his family. He feared God and obeyed. And as God promised, all the nations of the earth are blessed because his obedience.
Is God telling you to leave your known security of business, church and/or family. Will you, like Abram, depart? Your obedience may not effect the all nations of earth, but it will effect those in your own little world, your family.
Follow God to the higher ground of peace and blessing.
