Women's Devotional Image 2012-06-06 06:35

“The earth,” I read,
“is full of His glory.”
I look all around.
Where is it?
I want to gaze at His glory so He can transform me.
Being a mom shows up so much in me
that needs transforming.
My eye catches movement.
My little girls, their dolls wrapped snuggly
in doll-sized quilts,
chatter past me.

“We’re taking our babies for a walk,” they announce.
I gaze into excited brown eyes,
wide and innocent, and so convincing
that they’re “for real” mommies.
A shaft of sunlight streams through the door
before it closes behind them.
I pause and reflect.
I’ve just seen it.
His glory shone all around.
The glory of His tenderness.
His glory in innocent, childlike beauty.
