“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3
God blessed people in the Bible in different ways. In the Old Testament, He blessed an individual or a nation with wealth, land, houses, flocks, herds, rain, crops, and rest from enemy nations. In the New Testament, however, His blessings were spiritual. Today, He still has special blessings for those who are in Christ Jesus.
We are chosen - Long before we were born, He knew He wanted us as a part of His family.
We are adopted - When we become part of His family, He feels the same pleasure as adoptive parents when they receive their new child.
We are accepted - Everyone wants to belong! We don't have to pretty, perfect, or popular, but He still accepts us.
We are redeemed - We are His by creation, but sin separates us. With His blood He bought us back from Satan's kingdom, so that we may be His by redemption.
We are forgiven - “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins...” I John 1:9
We are loved - The words of the children's song 'Jesus Loves Me' are so true.
We are treasured - We are His prized possession, belonging exclusively to Him.
We are carried - If we can no longer put one foot in front of another, He lifts us up.
We are comforted - He calls Himself the God of all comfort, and He comforts us with His Word, His Spirit, and His children.
We are graven on the palm of His hand - He will never forget us! Our names are ever before Him.
We are celebrated - He rejoices and sings over us; He is thrilled about us! If God were to meet you at Wal-Mart, he would be overjoyed to see you.
We are remembered - He thinks about us more times than there are grains of sand. His thoughts toward us are of peace, not of evil.
We are created - He knit us together in our mothers' wombs.
Do you feel blessed?
